C.P.A. Hugo René Ortiz Santos studied Public Accounting and Finance at Instituto Tecnológico y de Estudios Superiores de Monterrey, Campus Monterrey. He has several diplomas, such as Diploma in International Taxes by Instituto Tecnológico Autónomo de México. He has a Master ́s degree in Taxes from Instituto de Especialización de Ejecutivos, and a second master’s Law degree in International Law from the School of Public Transformation and Government of Tec de Monterrey.
Trajectory
C.P.A. Hugo René Ortiz Santos worked in The Rice Company, located in Roseville, California, where he was responsible for opening a Mexican subsidiary, in charge of the administrative and finance areas. Later, he joined the Ortiz Garza y Asociados Firm in the audit area, and then collaborated in the acquaintance area. In December 2018, he became part of Servicio de Administración Tributaria (SAT) as an advisor of the head of the SAT, and with Administración General de Planeación, where he participated in projects related to the exploitation of information for its analysis, as well as for auditing. He’s currently the Director of the Law Firm Ortiz Garza y Asociados in the tax area.
He’s an active member of Instituto de Contadores Públicos de Nuevo León. Since January 2022 he is President of Comisión de Capacitación y Apoyo a la Práctica Profesional Independiente. He has been a master’s level professor at Instituto de Especialización para Ejecutivos and at Escuela de Especialidades para Contadores Profesionales. He was a radio host for 14 years in the “Frecuencia Fiscal” program, broadcasted by Tec Sounds Radio from May 2006 to May 2020.
